This week I hosted my first magic talk on “The Golden Age of Magic” for the Leicester Magicians Network. An interactive session that was also a quiz, working through important magic milestones during the lifetime of Houdini.
Preparing the session certainly took up much more time that I expected. Glad I put in the effort to plan it though as made it go smoother with scripting that I also put in place.
I think those who attended enjoyed the session. Some nice comments.
My next project will be a thesis on a magic related subject and once that is complete, I think I have an idea for another talk if accepted by the LMN. Though that will not be something I contemplate planning until next year.
I also finished my interview with Jasper Blakeley from The Small Space. The post is going through a small review process and I will then get it off to Jasper as a preview.
Tonight, I finally get to see Mandy Muden live. Really looking forward to this and I will tell you about it in the blog next week. The gig is just a few miles down the road from where I live. Can’t wait!
Also during the week, a new signed poster arrived that I bought. A signed Edinburgh Fringe Chris Cross poster that will be quite limited. The collectables page on the website has also been updated. It also came with an A5 signed version as well.
Have a good one. Martin
