Marc Spelmann

Marc Spelmann discovered his fascination for magic, the paranormal, the improbable and impossible aged just seven years old. Unlike most, Marc would watch magic on television and have a unique ability to reverse engineer everything he witnessed. But rather than ruining the experience of magic it fuelled Marc’s passion to create his own techniques and demonstrations.

“I became obsessed with these principles that seemed so clear and understandable to me despite not having any literature on the subject. I remember finally being able to afford some books on magic and rather than learning the secrets I was confirming what I already knew just by watching magicians on TV.

Marc’s natural ability and passion however took a back seat during his teenage years, as he decided to study more conventional subjects like art, design and illustration, something else that came naturally to him. Throughout his studies Marc knew ‘Magic’ was where his heart was and credits his late godfather David with giving him the courage to pursue his dream of becoming a performer.

“David was the most creative person I’ve ever known. He had big dreams, but he never got the chance to fulfill them as he died aged just 40. Before he passed, he told me to live my life to the fullest and that it’s better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all. He was, is and will always be my hero.”
