My Week In Magic - Update 13

I attended some of the Magic Circle Unlocked show on the Sunday. I did not have as much time to view as I would have liked on the night. However, many of the videos were left online to view after the event. Appears to be a dealer and recruitment drive.

On the Sunday, I discovered that Darcey Oake was advertising his new Zoom show For December. The most exciting part is that signed books and posters were also on sale. As a collector, these were must buys and I quickly snapped up my copies.

On the Tuesday night, I attended a Ropeology lecture as part of the Leicester Magicians Network. Hosted by Ian Gamage.

A really good session and most enjoyable. We worked on Ian’s version of the professors nightmare routine. A very enjoyable evening and good tuition which made the workshop easy to follow.

I have also been practising the penguin magic “Close-Up Illusion” by Larry Jennings presented by Michael Ammar (Instant Download). While practicing, I have also recorded myself so that I can watch back. Excellent effect with a simple gimmick.

My new book that I ordered last week also arrived. Another book by Karl Fulves and this time self working card tricks. This book was recommended to me and so far looks like a good buy.

On the Friday night, I attended a Richard Jones virtual online show. 40 minutes of polished Zoom material. Very impressive and I knew that would be the case. Another review in the bag.

To finish off the week, MagicFest 2020 tickets went on sale. The festival pass is a bargain so I bagged a ticket. My job will be busy in December so the opportunity to unwind and attend these shows will be a highlight. Plenty of opportunities for reviews with 8 shows in a 5 day period! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a good week!
